No they didn't. Before First Contact they had them on operating tables a la Captain Picard in Best of Both Worlds. It was a slow process. There was no assimilation between BOBW and FC.

Yeah, like MI said, that depends on your perspective. The assimilation tubules may have existed in-universe, but the only assimilation ever seen in Star Trek prior to First Contact was Picard's transformation into Locutus. All that happened there was Picard was beamed off, spoke with the ship's "Collective Core," and when the away team beamed over later, they encountered Picard with a metal plate and a red laser attached to his head.

Note that the tubules' nano-assimilators only convert an entity into a baseline drone. Internal implants and control systems are created and integrated. External modifications and enhancements like the arm added to Locutus or any of the various modified external eyes the Borg use would happen at a later time even after the tubules premiered on screen. The one "major" point that displays a change in assimilation technology between the Borg of TNG and the Borg of the film and Voyager is that Picard's skin tone does not change until a fair ways into the hardware additions.

Right yea! I checked Wiki and couldnt believe First Contact came out in 96! I thought it was a few years later at least 98 or something.

I was so used to seeing the tubules on Voyager that I thought First Contact must have came out way after Voyager but 96 would have been season 1-2 of VOY.

Well Knowing that PS network is releasing FF VII I just have to say it is disappointing to see it rehashed as a download. I thought they would do an updated version with better graphics or a DS version or both. I just got off You Tube looking a concept videos for both.One video showed VII as a Advent Children like PS3 Game the other was fan made box art of VII for PS 3 and DS. Oh and by the way You Tube also had a video of someone playing it on DS looked like it ran pretty well too. Though I bet the person was playing it Illegally but thats another story. But being they pulled this BS of releasing it on PS network I'll get it cause despite it being the most overrated FF game. It still has a place in my heart. Of course I still want it on PS3 with better graphics and DS along with V and VI in 3d. But you can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which comes first.

My Xbox RROD'd on me. I think I posted pics in this thread or maybe just wrote about it. They took care of it in about 28 days and sent me a new xbox back along with a 1 month XBL gold subscription. However XBL didn't work in my res so I sold the serial code on WoW for 300 gold. overall not a terrible experience like the ones I've had with my PS2

Unfortunately for hardcore metal fans, the addition of Ozzy to Brütal Legend has apparently resulted in the removal of Ronnie James Dio's voicework in the game. The possible plus for adventure game fans? He's been replaced by Gabriel Knight.

Sigh. While that's amazingly great news to hear, it worries me that they see "Day of the Tentacle" as the franchise and not "Maniac Mansion." I'd rather see some other kids for a change. Maybe one other from Maniac Mansion (not Dave or Bernard) and a couple other brand new characters.

Hehe, I saw that today aswell, I love PAs Cardboard Tube Samuri strips! That would be so cool to play in Tekken 6 although I'm sure none of my friends would have any idea who he was lol!

However great the Tales of Monkey Island will be I hope it sells well enough to get a DOTT series that would just be so awesome!

I have learned that Wayne Allwine, the recently deceased voice of Mickey Mouse, completed the voice work for 358/2 Days before his death. That now makes two VAs who've died after finishing their Kingdom Hearts works as their final performance (Pat "Mr. Miyagi" Morita was the first) alongside two others who died after recording for KH1 and before KH2 sessions began (Tony Pope - Gepetto; John Fiedler - Piglet), along with Jerry Orbach dying just before he could record for Lumiere once again (archived recordings were used instead). I call curse.

Jerry Orbach was Lumiere? I NEVER made that connection. I dunno, I think I'm getting tired of Kingdom hearts, Chain of Memories just isn't doing it for me and I think I'm bored of the concept. Of course the fact that I needed your help deciphering KH2's storyline probably doesn't help either.

In other gaming download news, anyone who purchases Gobliiins 4 via GamersGate or Impulse will get bonus downloads of the previous three games in the Goblins series, fully playable on modern systems thanks to ScummVM.

I dunno, ScummVM has an incredible reputation once they say a game is supported, I've never had a game crash or not work in the way its supposed too, it is an amazing feat though.

I've only played Discworld a couple times when I was a lot younger so never really played it properly so looking forward to experiencing it. What kind of issues has it had to get running?
