KQ2 VGA is BETTER than Sierra's KQ2

Some background: KQ2 was the first computer game I played back in 1986 or so. It was one of my favorite games ever. It wasn't till the 1990's that I got a chance to play the other KQ games. Now I found this KQ2 VGA remake, and I must say that I'm really impressed. Really, I created this account just to let the authors (Daniel, Anonymous Game Creators, music team, etc) know what a great job they did.

What surprised me most was the DEPTH of the game. [spoiler] You didn't just give the trident to Neptune like the original KQ2. You had to do so much more, like visit the Sharkee world, finding Neptune's trident, which was a whole sub-game within itself. [/spoiler] KQ2 VGA expanded on so many elements the original game had, and created new ones. Character dialogue was expanded to the point where you see their personalities shine. Fan made games are usually garbage. Many KQ clones such a Hugo's House of Horrors were poorly implemented with non-intuitive puzzles, lack of character dialogue, etc. I think KQ2 VGA's graphics, sound and plot were all professionally done and just set a higher standard for fan made games to live up to...

The only negative reaction I had to KQ2 VGA was the excessive blood and violence in King Graham's various deaths. This is not a criticism; rather an aspect which makes the game less Sierra like. Sierra always marketed King's Quest as a family game; this theme was sort of lost in the remake. [spoiler] Walk in Hagatha's cave, and watch yourself get impaled with spears! Or pick up the gold coins and watch the dwarf stab you with his knife[/spoiler] But respectfully speaking, the authors of KQ2 VGA had the right to make the game in whatever way they saw fit, as they were the ones remaking it. Overall, KQ2 VGA is one of the best King's Quest games I've ever played. I sincerely hope that Roberta Williams plays it one day, as she'll truly understand what great fans she has to remake one of her old games as AGD did.

Yeah the part when you get stabbed walking into Hagatha's cave shocked me so badly, I screamed out loud. It reminded me of Prince of Persia 2 when you would die gruesomely like that. Creepy...

when i was little i used to play prince of persia. When eva i jumped and fell i used to close my eyes i hated watching him get stabbed it freaked me out totally

OMG

You think THAT IS gruesome death? Geez man you need to play somthing like quake 3. If you thought that that was gruesom, quake will fry your brains.
