OK, I got up using the carpet, hypnotized the snake, entered the cave, read the enchantment in the open book.
BUT I can't seem to do anything else -- the snake can't see the necklace from this side, there's no room to use the carpet, and I can't find anything else to do in the cave or any way to move (except, of course, falling to my death. But that's not much fun after the first couple of times).
What am I missing?

Got it, turned the snake to horse, got back down. Where's the bloody bridle?

sorry to be a nad (and seem lazy), but none of the rocks would budge an inch. What should I do?

Have you looked at every corner of the enchanter's house for clues? If you haven't, try looking for it there first.
